Katie-Ann Houghton
About the work
Inspired by the colours of the Canberra Spring, Un Mug is designed to embody the playful spirit of this years Canberra Art Biennial. For the Un Mug series, Katie-Ann references Spring’s vibrant palette; the bright blues of the sky, and the symphony of colours of the flowers.
Katie-Ann’s glasses capture this dynamic spectrum through a fusion of traditional glassblowing techniques and contemporary design.
Each handmade glass invites the user to interact with it and explore its tactile qualities, transforming a simple act into a moment of appreciation for nature’s artistry.
