Localjinni
About the work
For all who love cities at night but don’t want to walk alone.
For the 2024 Canberra Art Biennial Localjinni, an urban projection collective-of over 50 CBR artists, will run a series of Lakeside Moonwalks. These Moonwalks are a walking film and sound show, around Lake Burley Griffin’s southern foreshore inspired by urban play. The Moonwalks are an opportunity to see artists conjure creative landscapes and see apparitions from the city’s past. Come flex your democratic muscles and exercise the right to the city for everyone.

About the artist
Fiona Hooton is founder of Localjinni, a creative community, operating after dark. Our walks bring art, culture and active travel together through site responsive stories and projections. Together we mobilise art, tech, and urban play to transform dark public spaces into active arts places. Our focus on place recognises the importance of local production and local knowledge.
