About the work

I am excited to share that 10 out of a series of 30 signet rings are available to purchase at Canberra Art Biennial events this year. These solid silver rings are individually deep-relief engraved by hand and editioned by myself. Their faces bear the marks of abstract free association and, like clouds, invite open interpretation.

Jonathan’s Contour Ring will be available for purchase throughout the festival period, from the festival venues Such And Such and CCAS (Lakeside).

 

About the artist

Jonathon Zalakos is a contemporary jewellery and object maker based in Canberra, on Ngunnawal and Ngambri land. Jonathon seeks to integrate contemporary philosophy with traditional goldsmithing materials and techniques through his practice. He has a particular focus on the psychological influence of the designed world and considers how designers can work toward manifesting alternative, ecologically conscientious ways of being.
