contour 556 inc is pleased to announce the appointment of Tegan Garnett as our inaugural creative producer for the 2024 Canberra Art Biennial.
Tegan (she/they) is an arts worker and early-career curator living and working on the unceded lands of the Ngunnawal, Ngunawal and Ngambri people. In her practice Tegan reflects on community, resisting normative discourses, and queering processes to inform how she initiates connective events and conversations.
Tegan adds the creative producer role for the Canberra Art Biennial to her continuing role at Canberra Glassworks. Her connection with the Canberra Glassworks has afforded her the opportunity to incorporate a glass lens into her practice, with ongoing investigation into queerness in glass.
The 2024 Canberra Art Biennial and associated programs will see stronger connections with Country and community. We welcome Tegan and look forward to a compelling and powerful program of activities.
