Exhibition Opening: Slow Assembly
Join us 3pm – 5pm in the gallery space of the Australian National Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre to celebrate the opening of Slow Assembly, and group exhibition featuring Anna May Kirk, Jacqueline Bradley and Rosalind Lemoh.
The Exhibition
Slow Assembly brings the works of contemporary artists Anna May Kirk, Jacqueline Bradley and Rosalind Lemoh to the visitors centre gallery at the Australian National Botanic Gardens gallery. Using glass, bronze and wood, these small scale sculptural works merge the organic and industrial through casting and assemblage. This exhibition speaks to the co‑dependent relationships between humans and plants and memory and regeneration. The act of collaboration is infused in the objects and thoughts gathered from walks through living collections of bush land and garden. Slow Assembly proposes a gradual state of becoming. These fragile structures and sculptural forms are guided by balance and rhythm, offering new ways to think about relationships across time and place.
