Join us 6pm – 8pm Thursday 1 October at ANCA Dickson for the opening of Jason Phu’s new exhibition, Dreams of a cicada, waking in the Summer heat.

About the Exhibition

Part play, part storytelling, part dreamscape, “Dreams of a cicada, waking in the summer heat” provides a loose retelling of Shakespeares Midsummers Nights Dream, a tale of the irrationality of love and desire, the fine balance of the order and chaos of nature, and the blurring of dreams and reality. The work is also heavily influenced by The Story of Stone (Dream of the Red Chamber 1763) and other folk tales.
