About the work
Travel via lake cruise on the stunning Lake Burley Griffin to Canberra’s premiere art destinations: The National Gallery of Australia, The National Portrait Gallery and The National Museum of Australia.
In connection with Contour 556 festival, jump aboard a captivating all-inclusive lake cruise and walking tour weaving together visual art, architecture, live dance, amazing music, theatrical tour guides and great local food and wine.
Culture Cruise is an exclusive half day art immersion – memorable and sensorial – connecting destinations and revealing stories here on the beautiful ancient lands of the Ngunnawal people, Canberra.
Experience Canberra’s art and cultural offering through a new lens, travelling on the water, feeling, seeing and listening to the work of great national, international and local artists.
Created and presented by Canberra’s award-winning dance company, Australian Dance Party.

Starting location: Regatta Pt wharf, near the Canberra and Region Visitors’ Centre.
End location: National Museum of Australia (tbc)

Based on Ngunnawal Country, Canberra, Australian Dance Party is an award-winning company of artists creating inventive and powerful dance experiences.
As a site-specific company, we are collaborators and celebrators of the spaces and places around us, opening up conversations and enlivening stories through our choreographies. Our immersive work engages diverse, and often unsuspecting audiences, creating a space for them to connect, reflect and awaken.
Led by award winning “tour de force” dance artist and choreographer Alison Plevey, we share unique and lasting experiences with audiences as well as sustaining and nurturing careers for dance artists in our region. And we have fun….its a Party!
