Mimi Kind
About the work
Amber Hour is constructed of brass, thread and brass beads. A motor gently twists the piece in space. As it is a delicate form and each bead is individually articulated, the responding motion is intricate and interdependent.
Amber Hour refers to a gentle shard of light. Like a death, a place you could stay forever. Yet it is energising, it stirs your cells, at the same time lulls you still.
